Abstract

The achievement of learning to write argumentative texts is to produce students who are able to write argumentative texts according to the rules and elements of argumentative texts. To produce this, teachers should use tips or methods in teaching the argumentative text. However, learning to write argumentative texts is not yet optimal, as can be seen from the learning outcomes of students who are not yet able to write argumentative texts well. In this case, the solution that can be offered to this problem is the application of an inquiry-based argumentative text writing model in Indonesian language learning. This research aims to produce a model for writing inquiry-based argumentative texts that has high validity. This research uses the Plomp development model which consists of preliminary research, prototype design, and evaluation. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling to obtain 40 students as a test of the model developed. The data collection method was carried out using questionnaires and documents. Research instruments include questionnaires, observation sheets and tests. The data analysis technique used in this research is a descriptive analysis technique, namely describing the results of data tabulation. The research results showed that the validity value obtained was an average of 90.92% in the very good category, practicality was 93.22%, and effectiveness was 92.21%. This shows that the model for writing argumentative texts is valid or can be applied in Indonesian language learning. Apart from that, the argumentative text writing model can increase student learning activities. Based on this, the inquiry- based argumentative text writing model can be used as an alternative for learning Indonesian.
